Cat Person

If you’re a cat person,
you know the feeling.
You walk into a Big Brand pet store. Only to find all the cat stuff crammed into a corner. The food choices confuse you. The dubiously labeled “cat” beds? Baffle you.
Meanwhile, dog aisles seem never ending. As a foster cat parent, I’m well familiar with this feeling of second-class pet ownership. Every time I used to enter a pet store for a routine visit, I’d have a ton of questions like:
"Why is all of the cat stuff shoved in the back? Are cat beds and bowls even designed for cats, or just little dogs? And why is it so hard for me to figure out what's in my cat's food?"
Picking up a can of cat food, suddenly all I could see were hefty ingredient lists and weird-sounding names like "Tuna Primavera Bowl."
I spent the next few months learning everything I could about cat food. And what I found was that hidden beneath most of these confusing labels were a bunch of fillers, grains, and meat by-products.
Big Pet Food does this because it’s cheaper to make (meaning higher profits for them). But since cats are obligate carnivores, those “fine-print” ingredients are hard for cats to digest, and can lead to rougher coats, stinkier poops, and lower energy levels — ugh.
Determined to feed my foster felines better food, I decided to create my own.
So I teamed up with Jimmy, our co-founder and a fellow cat lover, to bring some TLC to the entire experience of caring for cats. Enter: Cat Person.
Today, we’re a small yet mighty team of cat lovers working to make life with cats more awesome than it already is.
